How to care for wool
Wool products have an air permeability of as much as 86% – this helps maintain a comfortable temperature while you sleep. Wool responds to changes in body temperature and retains only as much heat as is needed, helping to keep you comfortable in both warm and cold weather.
Wool products are hygienic thanks to the antibacterial properties given by lanolin – a natural fatty substance secreted by sheep's skin that helps protect against infection. This makes wool an excellent choice for people prone to allergic skin or respiratory conditions.
Wool is sustainable and environmentally friendly. At the end of its life it can be returned to the soil, where it decomposes quickly and 100% naturally, giving its nutrients back to the earth.

How to care for wool
Wool stands out for naturally staying clean, not absorbing odours, regulating moisture and resisting stains. These properties mean that caring for wool is easy and does not require frequent washing.
Usually it is enough to air the item outdoors, keeping it out of direct sunlight. When washing or cleaning wool products, use detergents that are as natural as possible and intended for wool.
Hand washing: wash in water (up to 30 °C) and use only gentle detergents intended for wool products (these carry the Woolmark label). Rinse thoroughly and do not wring hard.
Machine washing: if you choose this method, select the washing machine programme marked with the wool symbol. If there is none, choose a gentle wash cycle at no more than 40 °C. Wool products may only be spun on a slow or dedicated wool programme.
Natural drying is best for wool. Avoid direct sunlight, as it damages the wool fibre. Wool products should not be ironed.
As the weather warms, wool products are used less, so it is important to protect them from moths at that time. To guard against pests, wash woollen blankets or clothes and pack them clean into airtight containers, boxes or bags, placing dried lavender flowers among the wool. Lavender gives off a pleasant scent and effectively repels moths. Properly cared for, wool products can last for decades.
